What is Hakomi? |
| Hakomi is an experiential method of body-mind therapy based on using a state of mind known as mindfulness for assisted self-study. The method is founded on the idea that "consciousness is choice" and that habitual behaviors are generated by beliefs, attitudes, and past experiences that are mostly outside of consciousness. By bringing into awareness the ideas that inform how we live and how we relate to others, it becomes possible to make changes in the direction of healthier living and happier relationships. The point of the method is to reduce unnecessary suffering. Hakomi is for suitable for anyone who is in the healing or helping professions, anyone in relationship and clients or counselors who feel "stuck." |
Workshops and Trainings
This season we offer two types of Hakomi experiences.
Weekend workshops and
a five-day training.
You may attend just one or many sessions
During weekend workshops, using the foundations of loving presence, spaciousness and present moment experience we will work in pairs and small groups to explore the Hakomi method as a tool for assisted self-discovery, and for creating the conditions for deep emotional healing. Each of the four weekend workshops will feature a facilitator from our rotating panel of Certified Hakomi therapists and trainers. Each of our facilitators has trained extensively with Ron Kurtz and each has years of Hakomi experience. Weekend workshops begin on Friday evening and end Sunday late afternoon. |
